We are hoping that at the end of this coming season we will be, at minimum, re-surfacing our sand-based pitch (with a new ‘hybrid’ wet-dry pitch) and creating a synthetic-surfaced hit-up area in the space to the north of our changerooms. The cost to FHC will be just short of $300,000. If our luck is in though, and we receive a state government contribution that we are lobbying for, we will also be re-carpeting the wet pitch at the same time, with FHC having to put up $460,000 towards a $1,100,000 scale of works.
Given either scenario, our tremendous volunteerism across last weekend’s U18 Girls State C’Ships at McIvor Reserve not only put a massive $5,000 into the Club’s building fund, but it also demonstrated the fantastic spirit that is driving our Club forward. In previous times these events have had to be carried by the same dozen or so Club stalwarts, but we seem to have struck a formula where a shared contribution by many delivers an even better outcome for our Club. Thank-you to all that called in. You have put a smile on the faces of all the old-timers around the Club, particularly the Treasurer!
